From the time that we started until now, we have had such an amazing time. Watching God shape and mold us into His image in this collective project has been interesting, to say the least. Our desire would be to see a thriving congregation with a pastor, looking for a new place to meet. However, that is not how God has seen fit to lead. We are meeting in the same place, still praying for an impact on the community, and for His direction of leadership. We have watched Him supply the needed funds to pay the bills, not as we would like, but always on time! We have walked through open doors of ministry and pray for more in the future. We are excited about the future plans for the work and pray to reach the lost and unchurched in Dierks, Arkansas. Please, commit to praying with us. People need the Lord everywhere.
On February 5th, at 2:30 in the afternoon, we began our first service for Faith Baptist Church in Dierks, Arkansas.
We began by grabbing our old fashioned Soul-Stirring Songs & Hymns book and opened our hearts in praise to God! The 34 in attendance ranged from young to old, from supporting church members to interested locals, from laymen to preachers, and so forth. All we're excited to see the Lord start a new work in a town that needs a gospel preaching, soul winning, Bible believing church.
We have many contacts to follow up on over the next few days as we get ready for Bible study on Thursday night.
It has been an amazing two weeks of preparation. All the door knocking, gospel sharing, inviting, cleaning, and setting up is about to pay dividends as we approach the opening service of Faith Baptist Church.
We have also seen opposition, not from people, but from circumstances! Each one, however has been an opportunity to trust God and let Him show Himself strong! This He has done and we are blessed indeed.
To each of our friends who have worked so hard, I want to say a big "Thank You!"
To everyone else, I ask that you continue to pray!
Loving God & Serving Others,
Over the years, God has given us a burden to reach people for Christ. This has lead the leadership and people of Grace Baptist Church, Heritage Baptist Church and Rose Hill Baptist Church to pray and plan for a new church in Dierks, Arkansas. With this in mind, we held a week long revival the week of October 15th in 2016. We enjoyed the preaching of Daniel Parker of Hot Springs, Wayne Murphy of Nashville, Tim Smallwood of De Queen, and Sean Cuthbertson of Pine Bluff. Many members of local area churches were a blessing through testimony and song.
From this meeting we prepared for a "Meet and Greet" in the community. A postcard was mailed to every address in the community of Dierks and to all the post office boxes. This effort was met with acceptance and cooperation from the community, with God's provision being made clear for a meeting place for services. These services are set to start on February 5th, 2017 at 2:30 pm. Sunday services will be weekly at this time and weekly midweek Bible study will be each Thursday at 7 pm. The location is 226 Main Street.
What you can expect from these services is preaching and teaching from the Word of God extended to any and all who would like to attend. We are independent Baptist believers and hold to the authority of God's Holy Word. We believe that God has preserved His Word in the King James Bible, and that will be the Bible that is preached and taught from. We believe in teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs and seek to glorify God in all our music. We believe in the love and fellowship of God's people and hope to extend that fellowship to the people of Dierks. Pray with us for God to build this great work.
